I recently spent an extended weekend in New Jersey, and for once, the goal wasn’t to cram every waking hour with estate sales and antique malls. Instead, I gave myself permission to slow down. I booked a massage, spent hours by the pool with a copy of Yesteryear (which I absolutely and highly recommend), and (happily) ordered an embarrassing amount of room service every single day.
I also crossed one very important item off my New Jersey bucket list: a Taylor ham, egg, and cheese on a bagel. Plus, I worked out in the hotel gym, and even took a leisurely bath while wearing a face mask. Next time I’m in the area, I am desperate to visit New Hope, Pennsylvania — I want to spend a day visiting all the antique shops and having coffee and dinner somewhere great! My idea of the perfect day, tbh.
Of course, I couldn’t resist sneaking in a few vintage detours while in The Garden State.
Between a Princeton estate sale and visits to both of The Big Green Barn’s locations (where I also left a few signed copies of Big Thrift Energy for anyone local who’d like one), I came across plenty of pieces worth sharing.
