I feel like everything kinda looks the same these days, you know? One high-end fashion house does a chunky loafer, and then another high-end house does it and then it’s duped and then everyone has it and its drenching my feed and I’m sick of it before I even had a chance to try it on.
I am someone who was raised on InStyle magazine and would absolutely pore over runway show imagery as a child and young adult. But in recent years I just haven’t found as much inspiration from new collections.
But oh baby did that shift when I saw the images out of the Polo Ralph Lauren 2026 Fall Ready-to-Wear Collection several months ago.
The styling is truly outside the box, pairing tried-and-true Ralph Lauren elements (fringe, polo shirts, Western accents) in exciting and inspired ways.
Fringed jackets are tied around the waist, with cummerbunds and concha belts over the top. There’s tuxedo shirting (and tuxedo jackets!) dressed down with leather. There are gloves! (so many gloves) under rugby-style shirts (which themselves are layered on top of turtlenecks).
This sporty-meets-Western look is also on display in Nili Lotan’s latest collection, which pairs a lot of oversized belt buckles and denim with more tailored pieces, like leather blazers.
Of course, many of these collections (and clothing in general, tbh) are wildly expensive.
Fortunately for us: so many of the elements therein are thriftable!
