When people ask me what to look for at thrift stores, they usually expect categories: lamps, art, silver, furniture.
But the way I actually shop is much more specific than that and I am very often looking for names.
Certain brands and makers show up again and again in secondhand spaces. And while many of the below brands are pricey if you find them in an upscale retailer or at an antique show, they are still often donated, often overlooked, and very often underpriced at thrift stores.
I think it’s helpful to keep a running list of the brands to search for, whether you’re at a thrift store, an estate sale, or scrolling Facebook Marketplace.
These are a few of the vintage brands I’ve been searching for lately, along with what to look for if you come across them.
