Carrie Bradshaw once said, “I like my money right where I can see it — hanging in my closet!”
Well, I like my money right where I can see it, too — hanging on my walls.
Art can be a really great investment — and I mean that literally, in the sense that if you buy the right kind of art, at the right time, you can turn around and flip it later.
I would know: I flip art all the time.
In fact, art is the number one thing I sell on Chairish, where I am an eight-time Super Seller.
And while I am typically flipping vintage art (and selling my own stuff — right this way if you want to see my originals or lower-priced prints) I also love collecting new stuff. And I especially love collecting pieces that I know will appreciate in value — so that if I ever sell them one day, I can do more than just break even.
The best part: Investing in art is totally doable. In fact, many of the works I have added to my collection have started as low as $200…. so as far as investments go, these have a pretty low barrier to entry.
